UNDERSTANDING MEANING EFFECTIVELY: PEDAGOGICAL APPROACHES TO THE READING SKILL

Over the last quarter of twentieth century, communicative approach to teaching and learning English has developed significantly and, at present, it is used worldwide in English, especially, EFL ESL situations. This also recommended by NCTB (National Curriculum Textbook Board) Bangladesh. Instead grammar-based approach, practice-based considered important recent theoretical approaches. practice covers training all four basic skills– listening, speaking, reading, writing. Success through which mainly serves purpose competence depends entirely on these skills. Among major skills, reading as a receptive skill significant role far Bangladesh concerned. Reading approaches pedagogy, being areas ESL, have been subjected change– change attitude, outlet, overall method– coping with latest experiment this field. So, time for us meditate over order make effective classroom friendly. The present study tried evaluate means exploiting meaning text, same time, intends deal current pedagogy skill. To some indispensable requirements closely related are discussed small canvas. Finally, intensely addressed.
